How long does the

All mailboxes are usually shipped domestically via
FedEx and take three to four business days to arrive.
How do I
go about ordering personalized custom mailboxes
For custom mailboxes, just place the order as you would
any of our mailboxes. Shortly afterwards, you will receive
an email with a link to your
customization page. On this page, you will spell out
what name you wish to have on your mailbox. Later on, you
will receive another email with a link to your own
review page. The review page will have the custom
design of your mailbox on it. You will have the option of
approving or rejecting the design. If you
reject
it, we will try our best to correct your disliking.
Approve it, we'll make it.
Are the mailboxes engravings
real
Yes, the designs on our engraved
mailboxes are actual cuts made through the antiqued surface to
reveal the shiny inner surface of the copper mailbox or brass
mailbox.
Tell me about the hinges.
The hinges are made of solid brass for all of our
mailboxes. Regardless of size, four separate hinges are used to secure the
lid to the box. The hinges are secured with old style rivets.
Is the mounting

Yes, matching screws for wood
structures are included with each purchase. Masonry screws
for brick and concrete type walls are also included.
Are the mailboxes made entirely of brass or copper
Yes, all but the lacquer.

What exactly is antiquing
The antiquing is the result of various submersion times in our
solutions. As used here, it is also the same word as patina. The solutions age the copper mailbox or brass
mailbox in a
very short time span whereas the same ageing without the
solution would take many years.
Tell me about
the lacquer.
All of our lacquered mailboxes receive a
non-tinted clear gloss
lacquer . The coat preserves the luster of the engraved
lines and protects the rest of the copper or brass
mailbox from smudge marks.
This is why we lacquer some of the non-engraved mailboxes also.
That way, you the customer always has choices. The lacquer we use is highly water, chemical, and UV resistant.
Will the nonlaquered mailboxes continue to age
The unlaquered mailboxes will continue to age
according to your unique environment. A quick note, some customers are
surprised after first handling their uncoated mailbox when installing. A
day or so later they may see finger smudge marks from the oil of ones skin on
the mailbox. These marks will go away as the days progress. The
morning dew, rain, temperature changes, etc. will all have a positive effect on
your box to make it unique to your own environment. These environmental
conditions will "harden" your mailbox so that future finger oils and the like
shall not have an effect anymore. This all happens rather quickly.

Are mailbox brackets included
They are available, at a slight cost, with every
mailbox. You have a choice as to what style will be included with your mailbox. These brackets are the strongest ones to be found anywhere.

brackets
All mailboxes, including the copper mailboxes, can be ordered
without brackets.
Are the mailbox brackets really solid brass or copper
Yes, the mailbox brackets are solid copper or
brass through and through. They are hand formed using traditional
blacksmithing techniques.
Where are
the brackets placed
The mailbox brackets are placed under your
mailbox. They are not attached in any way to your mailbox. They come
with pre-drilled mounting holes along with appropriate screws. Just as
your mailbox is screwed to a wall, so are the brackets. This way, they can be mounted at whatever spacing you prefer below your mailbox.
Besides including brass screws for wood based walls, masonry screws are also
provided for brick type walls.

What wall types
can the mailboxes be mounted to
The mailboxes can be mounted to both wood and
masonry type walls. Both wood and masonry type screws are provided.
Can the mailboxes be placed on the home without some
type of cover
Some sort of covering is not necessary for all of
our wall mounted mailboxes. They are built to endure all forms of outdoor
elements. You will not be limited to where you can put it.
How do I care for my decorative mailbox
A moist cloth is all that is necessary.
What are the dimensions of your three different sizes of wall mount
mailboxes
Our smallest wall mount mailbox measures in at fifteen inches
wide by four inches in depth and by six inches in height. This alone is
larger than most mailboxes. Our medium model is the same as our small
model except that it is nine inches in height. Our largest mailbox is
eleven inches wide by fifteen inches in height. It's depth is the same as
the preceding one.
Legal documents easily fit in this unit with lid down, case closed. Our largest mailbox
displaces over 600 cubic inches of space. Spacious on the inside and good
looking on the outside.
What tools are
necessary to install a mailbox
A phillips screwdriver and drill set is all
that is necessary. For wood type walls, use a 9/64" wood type drill bit.
For masonry walls, use a 5/32" masonry type drill bit.
Are two mailboxes ever alike
No two mailboxes are ever alike. Each
piece of copper or brass contains impurities totally unique to itself.
These impurities give themselves off in the form of color tone changes.
This gives our mailboxes the beautiful tones and patinas that they are known
for. This is also the reason that no two boxes will ever seem alike.
These impurities may show up in the antiquing process. They may show up as
a red line or a purple line in your final product. They may show up as a
dark line. These are the things that make your mailbox unique and
individual.
Can I get a mailbox that is neither antiqued or
lacquered In other words, can I get a mailbox "in the raw"
Of course you can. Contact us with your
request. A "raw" mailbox would be one such as

to age it well beyond what our other mailboxes endure. After installation on

Yes, all of our wall mounted copper mailboxes have the
option to become a locking mailbox. You will make your

How does the locking mailboxes
work
A second internal lid with a slot is right beneath
the top lid. This internal lid is outfitted with a lock with two supplied
keys.
Can the internal lid be removed from the locking mailboxes
No, the internal lid is permanently connected to
the mailbox. One end of the long side is connected to the inside of the
mailbox by hinges. The other long side is equipped with the lock. To
receive your mail, simply unlock the internal lid, lift it up, and receive your
mail.
Can the lock on the mailboxes be easily replaced
Yes, the lock is a standard file cabinet type that
would be stocked at your local Home Depot or Lowes. All that would be
necessary would be a crescent wrench or two. The mailbox is held by two
screws and each bracket is held by two screws also.

the right patina for the metal. The process would takes years if left to
nature alone.
